What I have been up to

In March this year, 2022, I decided to close my remedial massage business at Lennox Head on the Far North Coast of N.S.W.

I can honestly say that over the 22 years of massaging, I enjoyed the hundreds of conversations I had with my clients, that covered just about every topic you could possibly talk about. I learned to be a very good listener during that time and more importantly, I developed a non-judgmental heart. My deep belief in people gives me respect for their individual models of the world.

However, I felt it was the right time for me to semi retire and focus on my Coaching business. I have 10 grandchildren who I wanted to visit more often, and I planned a few short trips with my wife Angela, now that Covid is behind us. My dad turned 86 last October, and this also influenced me to slow down in order to spend more time with him.

In August I went on a road trip for 10 days, with an old school mate, visiting many friends and places. We had numerous side-splitting laughter moments that brought tears to our eyes. It was such good fun! Keeping up connections with my friends is a bit of a thing with me these days, perhaps because I’m 62, as it fills my cup to keep all those friendships close to me.
Time went by and before I knew it was October. Our daughter’s wedding day on the 7th was a great day filled with family and friends. Walking my daughter down the wedding path at Harvest Village in Newrybar was a definite highlight of this day.

Ange and I have just returned from the Snowy Mountains area having enjoyed a very adventurous trekking, horse riding and river rafting holiday. It felt good to disconnect from the world for a short time and just be in the moment. I remember a time of reflection when I noticed that I was perfectly still in my mind, perfectly content and just observing the Snowy mountains and its beautiful river.

From my office I have been quietly working face to face with my Coaching clients. I love watching my clients get that lightbulb moment that allows them to get a new perspective on past, emotional, negative events and learn how to then move forward in life.

In the last few months, I have decided to now take my coaching business online. I have designed a 4-week program to help people manage their anxieties and stresses where they virtually learn the tools they need to enjoy life in control of their future. I am very excited that I will soon be able to coach small groups.

So that’s a quick synopsis of what I have been up to these past 10 months.

Enjoy your Christmas holiday season.
Cheers Murray
