Kellie was born in Wee Waa (cotton capital of Australia) in 1976 to Daryl and Lorraine Young. She didn’t play organized sport until the age of 12 when her dad moved the family to town to pursue a career in agribusiness. At 16, she went on an invitational tour of Canada and the west coast USA. (She had to forfeit her position the first invitation as her family could not afford it and she had to work hard and save for me to be eligible and pay for the trip.) She won the Pierre De Coubertin Award for Olympic Spirit when I was 16, and attending talented athletes camps. Watch the full video to know her story and let her inspire you through her experience.
